Thanet Passport Update - 8

Dear Colleagues

Don't forget that all previous Updates and resources can always be found on our website.

HOME CHALLENGES & ACTIVE GAMES

As mentioned in my last Update, Stephanie our SGO has been working hard on devising two virtual competitions for schools to be shared electronically with parents. These are:-

  1. THE VIRTUAL HOME CHALLENGE - As a replacement for last term's Multi-Fit Challenge, this is for boys and girls in all age groups from Year R to Y6. Please see the attached Event Specification for full details. Parents are asked to submit their first set of results results themselves by 11th February and again next term, using the online link. If they are unable to do so then please allow them to send in the results to you, so you can send them to Stephanie in one batch. The activities are also designed to be done in school with the children of Key Workers. The attached YST support cards include adaptations and mini games so that children can challenge themselves still further.
  2. ACTIVE GAMES AT HOME - Simply send parents the attached Games Support Pack.

Also attached is a letter from me that (hopefully) explains everything to parents.

FOOTBALL REMINDER

A reminder to register your interest for the TSC virtual football competition, for all year groups from YR to Y6, using the following link:-

AFFILIATION FEES

I have been informed that, due to the current restrictions, the Ursuline College has not yet been able to send out the invoices for Passport Affiliation. I have been assured that they will be sent soon, so please alert your finance people that they are on their way. Don't forget that the affiliation fee counts as eligible expenditure from your PE & Sports Premium.

LES RIGGS

As you may have seen on the local news, Les Riggs sadly passed away at the end of December aged 85. Les was an ex-professional footballer, mainly for Gillingham and Newport County, and a former manager of Margate FC. He was also a great supporter of local football and provided the trophy for the senior inter-school football competition that bears his name. He will be much missed.

Best Wishes
