Thanet Passport Update - 15

Dear Colleagues

REVISED TERM 6 CALENDAR

As expected we have had to revise some of the events on our calendar for next term. Upton is no longer available and therefore neither of the two Saturday Cross Country events will now take place. We have also decided to cancel the regional Rugby Festivals on Friday 2nd July. A revised copy of the calendar is attached.

However, I'm pleased to say that the planned Rounders Festival will now take place at St George's Primary School and the Passport Cup Girls Football competition will now be held on the 5-a-side courts at Margate FC on the same dates as previously advised. See below for more information.

CRICKET ENTRIES

I am pleased to say that we have had several entries for all our cricket competitions. The Rapid Fire is full, but if anyone would still like to enter the Y3/4, Y5/6 Girls and Y5/6 Mixed Kwik Cricket then I am happy to take entries up to the end of this week.

Y3-6 ROUNDERS FESTIVAL

Attached is an entry form for the Y3-6 Rounders Festival which will be held at St George's Primary School on Wednesday 23rd June, 4-5.30pm. There is no limit on the number of schools that can enter and entries can be sent to me now, garybcrees@gmail.com, but certainly no later than Friday 11th June. A copy of the rules is also attached and please note that parents will not be allowed to attend.

Y4-6 PASSPORT CUP GIRLS FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Also attached is an entry form for the Y4-6 Passport Cup Girls Football Tournament, which will take place at Margate FC on Friday 25th June, 1-4pm. There is no limit on the number of schools that can enter and schools may also enter up to 2 teams. Entries can be sent to me now, garybcrees@gmail.com, but certainly no later than Friday 11th June. Please note that parents will not be allowed to attend.

WANTED - GIRLS DISTRICT FOOTBALL TEAM MANAGER

I would like to thank our Girls District Football team Manager, Richard Adams, who has sadly decided to stand down after two seasons of sterling work. That means that we are now looking for someone to manage the team for next season. This is a paid position, involving 8+ games plus training sessions across the season. Ideally we need someone who is FA registered, although this can be arranged. However, it is not really suitable for someone who is already involved with a local primary age girls football team due to a possible conflict of interest.

If you, or anyone you know might be interested, then please email me for further details, garybcrees@gmail.com.

SPORTS DAYS

The Passport Committee met yesterday and we are all happy to help if you need any advice or suggestions as to how to stage your Sports Day this year. Please don't hesitate to contact me.

AND FINALLY...

I have just heard that our District Football team beat Dartford away 2-1 this evening in the semi-final of the Kent Premiership play-offs. They will now play Orpington in the Final. Good luck to Sean Hill and the team!

Best Wishes
