Thanet Passport Update - 17

Dear Colleagues

IT NEVER RAINS BUT IT POURS!

Following last week's postponement of the easing of Covid restrictions, sadly we have had to CANCEL some of our planned events. These are:-

Y2 Quad Kids - Weds 30th June - Dane Court
Y5/6 Netball festival - Weds 7th July - Dane Court
Y5/Thanet Athletics Championships - Royal Harbour School

Happily the following events, as previously advertised, WILL STILL BE GOING AHEAD:-

Y1/2 Football Festival - Tues 6th July - Margate FC
Y3-6 Mini Tennis - Friday 9th July - Margate Tennis Club

If you are thinking of entering either of the 2 events above there are still places left, so please do so with every confidence.

So far this term we have successfully and safely run 2 Kwik Cricket competitions, a Rapid Fire Cricket competition and a Tri-Golf tournament, with Rounders and Girls Football going ahead this week. A Covid19 Risk Assessment and clear guidelines are always provided in advance.

PE AND SPORTS PREMIUM

In case you missed it, it was announced last week that the PEand Sports Premium will continue in 2021/22 and any unspent grant from the previous year can be carried over into the 2021/22 academic year. Obviously this is great news. Membership of Thanet Passport, as always, counts as eligible expenditure, so don't forget to factor that in. The annual affiliation fees have yet to be confirmed by the Passport Committee, but are likely to be £700 for through Primary and Junior Schools, and £250 for Infant, Special and Small Schools. Further information can be found at:-

PASSPORT CALENDAR FOR 2021-22

We have already begun putting together next year's Passport Calendar, which we hope will see a return to near normality. As always, a draft copy will be sent out to all schools in July so that you can plan for the year ahead.

DISTRICT CUP FINAL

The Thanet District Boys Football team will be playing Orpington in the Kent Premiership Final at Hartsdown Park, the home of Margate FC, on Friday 2nd July, k.o. at 7.30pm. Good luck to Sean and the team!

Best Wishes
