It's been a short but busy term. Enjoy the break next week.
Details are attached for the first of two football festivals for Years 3/4, which will take place at Margate FC on Tuesday 13th November, 3.45-5.15pm. This is an additional event this year and is run along the same lines as the Y2 festivals. No limit on entries but only one team per school. Entries should be sent to me, gary.rees@tinyonline.co.uk , no later than Friday 2nd November.
The Les Riggs Cup first and second round games have now been completed and the updated draw is attached. The Consolation Cup draw was also sent out last week to all those schools that lost their first games, but I have attached a further copy in case you didn't receive it!
I have had several offers to host our networking meetings for PE staff and consequently we will be holding future meetings at different venues across the island. The first of these will be at Upton Junior School on Friday 30th November, 1-3.30pm. Not only is this an opportunity for you to meet and exchange ideas with other PE staff, but we also have guest speakers who often have offers of free resources or training for schools, as well as updates about national initiatives, not to mention the occasional sports specific training. Not only that, but release cover counts as eligible expenditure from your school's Sports Premium. This CPD opportunity is provided for free as part of your membership of Passport - so there is no reason why you shouldn't make every effort to be there! Although there is no actual cut off date for notifying attendance, it does help if I know a week or so beforehand so that I can arrange refreshments. Please put the date in your diaries and confirm your attendance with me as soon as you can.

Do have a look, and Dave the photographer has told me that any of the photos can be used by schools as long as Educational Life is acknowledged.
Attached is a flyer for the Kent Cross Country Championships for Years 3/4 and 5/6, which will take place at Detling on Saturday 17th November. The deadline for entries is 2nd November.
Also attached is a flyer and application form for staff who would like to gain the A.S.A. NCTP Certificate for Teaching School Swimming (Primary K.S.1/2).
