Thanet Passport Update - 10

Dear Colleagues

CROSS COUNTRY - Years 3-6

Having met with Thanet Athletics Club, I'm delighted to announce that the Cross Country event will now take place on Saturday 9th March. This will still be at Quex Park but a week later than on the Passport Calendar. Guidance, an entry form and a pro forma letter for parents are attached. However, please note that there are some significant changes to the administration arrangements so please read the Guidance carefully. Entry forms should now be sent to me, gary.rees@tinyonline.co.uk , no later than Wednesday 27th February and cheques for the total amount need to arrive no later than Friday 1st March. Please note that schools that fail to meet these deadlines will not be able to take part.

We are also in desperate need of half a dozen volunteers to manage the traffic flow. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are able to help.

QUICKSTICKS HOCKEY - Years 3/4 and 5/6

Also attached are the entry forms for both the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 Quicksticks Hockey KSG qualifiers, which will take place at Chatham House on Thursday 28th February and Monday 4th March respectively. Please return the entry forms to me, gary.rees@tinyonline.co.uk , NO EARLIER than 7.30am on Thursday 7th February. There is a limit of 12 teams per event and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Entries close at midnight on Monday 11th February 2019.

MULTI-FIT FESTIVAL - Years 1-6

This is a fun new event on our calendar which is designed for children who do not usually get the opportunity to represent their school at sport. It will take place at Ramsgate Leisure Centre on Friday 1st March, 1-3pm and all schools are invited to bring along 2 pupils from each year group. During the course of the afternoon the participants will face a series of fitness and skills based activities, modified according to their age. A through primary can bring a team of 12, whilst separate Infant and Junior Schools can bring 4 and 8 respectively. However, if Junior Schools wish to liaise with their feeder Infant schools to bring a combined team that would be great.

We hope as many schools as possible will take part, but due to the size of the venue there is a restriction on numbers so please get your entries in as early as possible. An entry form is attached which should be returned to me, gary.rees@tinyonline.co.uk , no later than midnight on Monday 11th February. Successful entries will then be confirmed along with details of the various activities.

RUGBY - Years 5/6

The sign up sheet for this season's rugby events is attached, as well as a reminder about the rules. Please return it to me, gary.rees@tinyonline.co.uk , no later than Friday 15th February.

NETBALL FESTIVAL - Years 5/6

This event will take place at Dane Court on Tuesday 12th March and schools are encouraged to enter B or even C teams rather than an A team. This will help schools meet the Schools Games Mark criteria. An entry form is attached which should be returned to Sue Mileham, milehams@garlinge,kent.sch.uk , NO EARLIER than 7.30am on Thursday 7th February. There is a limit of 12 teams and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Entries close at midday on Monday 11th February 2019.
