Thanet Passport Update - 11

Dear Colleagues

COMMUNITY AWARDS WINNERS!

As you may recall from Update 8, Thanet Passport was shortlisted for this year's Thanet Community Awards. I am delighted to tell you that we were one of the 6 winners at the Presentation Evening last month, where we received a glass trophy, use of their logo and a cheque for £1000! The Passport Committee will decide how exactly this windfall will be spent, although we had previously agreed that it will go towards providing free equipment for member schools. So watch this space for further details.

PE STAFF NETWORKING MEETING

The second of these highly valued meetings will be at Chilton Primary School on Friday 22nd March, 1-3.30pm. Not only is this an opportunity for you to meet and exchange ideas with other PE staff, but we also have guest speakers who often have offers of free resources or training for schools, as well as updates about national initiatives, not to mention the occasional sports specific training. Not only that, but release cover counts as eligible expenditure from your school's Sports Premium. This CPD opportunity is provided for free as part of your membership of Passport - so there is no reason why you shouldn't make every effort to be there! Although there is no actual cut off date for notifying attendance, it does help if I know a week or so beforehand so that I can arrange refreshments. Please put the date in your diaries and confirm your attendance with me as soon as you can.

REMINDERS

Don't forget that entry numbers for the Cross Country on 9th March need to be sent to me by tomorrow, 27th February, with cheques to be received by the end of this week.

Also a reminder that entries for the Swimming Gala on 18th May, run by Thanet Swim Club, are now open. The Entry Pack sent out with Update 9 has been reattached for your convenience.
