This is a new addition to the Passport Calendar this year and we hope that lots of schools will give it a go. There is no restriction on entry numbers and schools may enter multiple teams of 4. Entries should be sent to Stephanie Selsby, sgo@ursuline.kent.sch.uk , no later than midnight on Monday 13th May.

Entries to me, gary.rees@tinyonline.co.uk , no later than Friday 17th May.

THANET DISTRICT FOOTBALL TEAMS

Staying on the theme of football, nomination forms for next season's District Teams, including the Development Squad, have been sent out to all through-Primary and Junior schools. Please let me know if you have not received them. As per last year, parents will be required to submit their data capture sheets online. The dates of the trials are as follows:-

Weds 5th June - District Team (for those players currently in Year 5) - at Upton

Weds 12th June - Girls District Team (for girls currently in Years 4 & 5) & Development Squad (for those players currently in Year 4) - at Upton

Help with selection on these dates from teachers and sports coaches will be gratefully received.

KWIK CRICKET

As per last year, the Year 3/4 tournament will be held on the same day as the Year 5/6 Girls' tournament, with the Mixed Year 5/6 event a week later. This is designed to make it a lot less exhausting for the Year 5/6 girls who are usually involved in both competitions. Places are limited to 8 teams for the Y3/4 event and 16 teams for the Y5/6 events. Please note that the Y3/4 event is now a qualifier for the Kent School Games. A copy of the rules is attached.

The Year 3/4 cricket tournament will take place at Margate Cricket Club on Friday 7th June, 9.15am-12noon. Games are 8-a-side with a squad of 10 if required. As this is a KSG qualifier there must be at least 2 boys/girls playing at any one time. The Year 5/6 Girls' tournament will take place at Margate Cricket Club on Friday 7th June, 1.00pm - 6.00pm. This is a KSG qualifier. The Year 5/6 Mixed tournament will take place at Margate Cricket Club on Friday 14th June, 1.00pm - 6.00pm. As this is a KSG qualifier there must be at least 2 boys/girls playing at any one time.

PLEASE NOTE that as numbers are restricted for these events, entries will NOT be accepted until 7.30am on THURSDAY 9th MAY, AFTER which time places will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis. Entries should be sent to me, gary.rees@tinyonline.co.uk , with the closing date for entries being midnight on Monday 13th May.

YEAR 2 RAPID FIRE CRICKET

I have now been given a date by the Kent Cricket Board for the Year 2 'Rapid Fire' Cricket competition of Monday 24th June. The event will take place at Westgate Cricket Club. Please reserve the date if you are interested and further details will be sent out as soon as I receive them.

PASSPORT COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS REQUIRED

The Thanet Passport Committee will have a few vacancies next academic year, due to retirement and long-serving members standing down. The commitment is not onerous and if anyone is interested in joining us please let me know, or talk to a Committee member for further information as to what is involved. Nominations must come from a Thanet Passport member school however. Further details can be found in our Constitution, a copy of which is attached.

Best wishes
