Thanet Passport Update - 18

Dear Colleagues

BOCCIA

Lisa Sparkes at Garlinge has both a KS1 and a KS2 space for the Inclusive Boccia Festival she has organised for children who may not always get an opportunity to represent their school sports teams. The event is taking place on Tuesday 9th July from 10-11am and teams should consist of 5 children. I have attached details about how you may wish to select a team should you need any guidance, as well as the Boccia 12's version rules which we will give you some idea about the rules being used at the festival.

If you would like to take part please send the lead adult contact details to Lisa, sparkesl@garlinge.kent.sch.uk , no later than Friday 28th June. First come, first served.

FREE MARGATE FC TICKETS

We are delighted that Margate FC will once again be one of our valued partners for next year, and as such they are repeating the offer of FREE tickets for every single child in every single Passport school to attend a pre-season game at Hartsdown Park. The offer includes 1 adult and 2 children for the game on Saturday 6th July v Welling United. As per last season, all you need to do is locate the relevant page for your school on the attached PDF document. The tickets have your school logo on them and are arranged (more or less) in alphabetical order with 4 tickets per page. You can then print off as many copies of that page as are needed for the number of pupils in your school. That way Margate FC will be able to monitor the take up from each school. Obviously there is the cost of printing/photocopying the tickets, as well as the time needed to cut the tickets up for distribution to each family, but hopefully this is not too burdensome. School staff are also welcome to attend with their own children.

There are no strings attached to this offer and there is obviously no compulsion to take part in this scheme if you do not wish to do so. If you have any questions please contact Charlotte Richardson at the club, charlottecrichardson@gmail.com .

MARGATE MASCOT EXPERIENCE

Once again, in conjunction with Margate FC, we will be offering all Passport schools the opportunity to bring up to 12 pupils to a league fixture at Hartsdown Park this coming season to act as mascots. All schools that have attended in the past have been very positive about the experience and further details are attached. Please fill in the booking form and return it to me by e-mail before the end of term if you wish to take advantage of this offer.

PASSPORT CALENDARS 2019/20

We are currently finalising the Passport Calendars for next year, and draft electronic versions will hopefully accompany my next Update in a fortnight's time.

SUPER 8s CRICKET

I still have places available for both the Super 8s friendly cricket festivals at Margate CC on Friday 5th July and at Broadstairs CC on Friday 12th July. Please let me know by midday on Monday 1st July if you wish to join us.

PASSPORT CONSTITUTION

At our recent Passport Committee meeting our Constitution was slightly updated and a copy is attached. This, along with lots of other useful documents, can be found on our website - www.thanetpassport.org.uk .
