Thanet Passport Update - 12

Dear Colleagues

PE STAFF NETWORKING MEETING

A reminder that the next PE Staff Networking meeting will be held at St George's Primary School on Monday 16th March, 4-5.30pm. There will be the usual updates and the main session will be a practical one, enabling you to share and support each other with regards to the role of the PE co-ordinator in embedding the subject within the school curriculum, as well as what Ofsted have been looking for recently, which will be led by Stephanie Selsby, our SGO, and Lisa Sparkes, PE Lead at Garlinge Primary.

Please let me know if you will be attending so that we can arrange refreshments etc.

CROSS COUNTRY CANCELLATION

As those who entered are aware, sadly the Cross Country last Saturday was cancelled due to the condition of Quex Park following all the rain. Please note that for those who have asked for cheques to be returned, this will be done where possible when we meet at various events in the near future. Otherwise all other cheques have been destroyed.

6 NATIONS RUGBY TOURNAMENT

For those schools that have entered the 6 Nations Rugby Tournament at Upton on Saturday 21st March, attached is the programme which is designed to be printed double-sided. All schools have been allocated the number of teams they asked for and once again because we have more teams entered we have added an extra group, so there will be an extra Fair Play Trophy on top of the usual 6 Nations trophies. Please make sure you arrive in good time so that we can start promptly at 9am. I trust there will be no late withdrawals, as this not only creates extra admin but is also not fair on the other schools in your group.

Can schools please make sure they return their trophies from last year, suitably engraved of course!

Finally, please note that there must be at least 2 boys or girls on the pitch (for this tournament only), not 3 as was stated in the sign up sheet.

RUGBY COUNTRIES DRAW FOR MAIN FESTIVAL

Staying on the theme of rugby, also attached is the list of countries that have been allocated to those schools that have entered the Main Festival on Saturday 25th April at Upton, so you can start making your banners now!!

Y1-6 KEY STEPS GYMNASTICS

Attached are all the details and the entry form for the Y1-6 Key Steps Gymnastics KSG qualiifer at The Ursuline on Tuesday 31st March, 1-3pm. Entries should be sent to Stephanie Selsby, sgo@ursuline.kent.sch.uk , by midday on Thursday 19th March. Schools may enter up to 2 teams per category.

CORONA VIRUS

At the risk of jumping on the bandwagon, until I am advised differently by schools all of our events will continue as planned.
