Thanet Passport Update - 1

Dear Colleagues

Welcome back! I trust that you are all well and that your schools are as back to 'normal' as they can possibly be in these difficult times.

PASSPORT CALENDAR

As I indicated at the end of last term the Passport Committee have decided to suspend the usual calendar of activities and run a reduced number of 'virtual' competitions for Terms 1 and 2. Please see the updated calendar attached so that you have an idea of what is coming up and can begin to practise accordingly. Medals will still be awarded to all schools that participate and additional details for each competition will be sent out nearer the time via my Updates. Obviously the only set dates will be the closing dates for submission of results. Don't worry if you do not have specialised equipment such as Tri-Golf, as Stephanie and I will be able to deliver loan items if needs be (suitably sanitised of course!).

We hope that if restrictions are eased in the New Year then we will be able to reinstate many of our larger events, such as Super Saturday or the Cross Country.

DISTRICT FOOTBALL TRIALS

Details and Nomination Forms for both the Main (Year 6) and the Girls (Years 5/6) District Team football trials were sent out last week. The trials will take place at Warten Road Recreation Ground on Wednesday 16th and Wednesday 23rd September, 3.45-5.15pm. If you have not submitted a nomination please do so immediately and if you are able to help with selection on those days please let me know.

However, please remember to only nominate those you consider to be highly exceptional players, as only 13-15 can ultimately be selected and every year we end up having to disappoint 30-40 players and their parents. Also, please make sure your parents are aware of the ESFA Covid-19 guidelines that were sent out, including the fact that they will not be able to enter the ground before, during and after the trials.

SCHOOL DATA CAPTURE FORMS

Thank you to all those who returned their Data Capture Forms last term. In order to help us get a picture of what is happening across the District and to help us to plan for the future, it would be really useful if every school could fill it in and return it. It only takes 5-10 minutes I promise! A further copy is attached for your convenience.

Stay Safe!

Best Wishes
