Thanet Passport Update - 3

Dear Colleagues

There is not much to tell you, but I thought it best to get an Update out so you know that you haven't been forgotten!

THE BIG PICTURE

Thank you to everyone who returned their data capture sheet. The picture across the board is pretty much the same for all schools. Apart from the virtual events there is no inter-school sport happening. A good many schools are continuing to run after school sports clubs, largely in bubbles, although some are not.

However, we did manage to run the trials for the two District football teams and the final squads have already played two matches. The boys' team have played won one and lost one, whilst the girls have drawn one and lost one. If you wish to know who ended up being selected then please visit the www.thanetdistrictschoolsfa.org.uk.

MULTI-FIT CHALLENGE

Stephanie sent out details about the virtual Multi-Fit Challenge last week, but in case you missed it here is her email and the necessary attachments:-

Hi All,

I hope this message finds you well and settled into the new school year.

We are fast approaching the end of 'Walk to School Week' and I am looking forward to receiving your participation data. I hope that this week will enable parents/guardians and children to reap the benefits of active travel and they will continue to do so throughout the school year. It will certainly help to reach the goal of 60 Active minutes per day for your children.

As you are all aware, Gary sent out the 'Passport Virtual Calendar' for Autumn 2020 earlier this term. You will probably be starting to gather data for the Multi Fit virtual event. This event has been adapted to include the some of the activities that usually feature, including one of the Tri-Golf activities, and will be completed as a 'Personal Best' challenge. I have attached the specification for you as well as the spreadsheet to record your results.

You will notice that the group sizes have changed. This has been adapted to fall in line with schools in class/year group bubbles and there is also no limit on team entries. It lends itself to the perfect opportunity to involve as many children as you can in this challenge.

If you have any difficulties in completing the activities due to equipment for example, please let me know and it can be loaned from Thanet Passport/Thanet School Games supplies.

Best wishes
