Thanet Passport Update - 2

Dear Colleagues

It has been so refreshing to finally see children taking part in inter-school sport over the past few weeks and teachers, sports coaches and players with huge smiles on their faces. Keep those entries coming in!

Y2 FOOTBALL FESTIVAL

Our first big event for younger children will be taking place at Margate FC on Wednesday 13th October, 3.45-5.30pm, and details are attached. There is no limit on numbers and schools may also bring up to 2 teams if they wish. Please send your entries to me no later than Friday 1st October 2021.

MASCOT MATCHDAY EXPERIENCE OPPORTUNITIES

I am delighted to say that once again we are working with our partners, Margate FC and Ramsgate FC, to offer all schools our popular 'Mascot Matchday Experience.' Schools can apply to be allocated a league game at either, or even both clubs. Then for a small fee, nominated children (accompanied by up to 2 adults each) will act as mascots for the day and enjoy a penalty shoot out at half time, plus food. Details for each club are attached. Simply return the form to me and I will be in touch with your allocated game and further details.

SPECTATORS

Some schools are understandably nervous about parent spectators attending inter-school events. At present our advice is that for outdoor events we are happy for parents to attend, especially as this has been happening at non-educational settings for some time now (eg club football). However, parents should be asked not to inter-mingle with the teams and adhere to any host venue regulations, such as staying in specific viewing areas. Some host venues may not wish spectators to attend, in which case this must be respected. Please assume that parents are welcome to spectate unless indicated to the contrary.

PASSPORT CODE OF CONDUCT & CHARTER

Finally, also attached are copies of the Passport Code of Conduct for coaches, players, parents and officials, as well as the Passport Charter. It is always good to remind everyone of our expectations when it comes to participation in sport and I hope you will find these useful as teaching aids.

Best wishes
