Dear Colleagues
The first Football Festival of the season for Year 2 will take place at Margate FC on Tuesday 16th October, 3.45-5.30pm. A flyer with further details is attached. There is no limit on the number of schools that can take part and entries should be sent to ME no later than Friday 28th September.
One of partners is 'Your Leisure,' who have asked me to remind you that ALL TEACHERS are entitled to a 30% corporate discount on gym membership. There are 2 levels of membership as follows:
This will give you unlimited access to the swimming pools, fitness suites and group exercise classes across Your Leisure facilities:
Because Schools are already recognised as a corporate partner, any teacher wishing to take advantage of a discounted membership only needs to take their School Identification Badge (or payslip) along to one of the Your Leisure Centre reception desks and ask to join the School Corporate Membership Scheme.
Attached are details and a registration form for a level 5/6 course in Primary PE and Subject leadership. The 6 day course (one day per term) starts on 15th November at Cobham Hall and is suitable for teachers, TAs and sports coaches. The cost of the course is £1200, which is eligible expenditure from your school's Sports Premium and the qualification will assist in raising the standards within primary school physical education teaching and learning.
Also attached are details and an entry form for the Kent Schools Table Tennis tournament which will be held at Gillingham on Wednesday 14th November. The closing date for entries is Friday 19th October.
Once again we will be holding a series of networking meetings across the year for PE Coordinators and sports coaches. I will be arranging the first meeting to take place one afternoon shortly after half term (early November) and I would appreciate any offers from schools to host. All we need is a large room, preferably with AV facilities and the offer of tea/coffee and possibly even biscuits!
Unfortunately when I send out my regular updates I occasionally get identified as 'spam' because I am sending to multiple addresses. Consequently I have to send my Updates in batches of less than 50 and vary the e-mail accounts I use, so please look out for any of the following - gary.rees@tinyonline.co.uk or gary-rees_1@tiscali.co.uk or garybcrees@gmail.com . They are all me!
Best Wishes
