Dear Colleagues
A few schools have been asking me when the details for the next Cross Country event at Quex Park will be sent out. Because of changes of personnel at Thanet Athletics Club it seems likely that the date of 2nd March may not now be feasible. However, I know they are keen to go ahead and I am meeting with them to offer assistance and find a way forward. It is possible that the event could take place on 9th or 16th March, but as soon as I know anything definite I will let you all know.
This non-contact variant of American Football will take place at The Ursuline on Wednesday 6th February and details with the entry form are attached. This is a KSG qualifier and there is a limit of 6 teams. Entries will be open from 7.30am on Thursday 24th January and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Entry forms should be sent to the SGO, Stephanie Selsby, sgo@ursuline.kent.sch.uk.
Also attached is the flyer for the Year 2 Gymnastics Festival at Callis Grange Infant & Nursery School on Wednesday 13th February. If you wish to enter the festival please email Abigail Perkins, aperkins@callis-grange.kent.sch.uk with your name, contact number and email address NO EARLIER than 7.30am on Thursday 24th January 2019. Because of time and space there is only room for 6 schools and spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Closing date for entries is midnight on Monday 28th January 2019.
Thank you to those schools that have entered the Speed Stacking event at Priory Infant School on Monday 4th February at 4pm. Steve Holmes has sent out final details so please let me know if you have not received these. Steve has also asked me to let schools know that places are still available if anyone still wishes to enter. Please contact him as soon as possible, sholmes@priory.kent.sch.uk , if you would like to take part.
Although the Swimming Gala organised by Thanet Swim Club is not due to take place until May 18th, entries are now open and the Entry Pack is attached.
Further reminders will follow nearer the time, but why not get your entry in early!
Attached is a flyer and Registration form for anyone who is interested in gaining the Level 5 Certificate in Primary School PE Specialism and the Level 6 Award in PE Subject Leadership. This is a 6 day (1 day per term) course starting in March at a cost of £1200, which is eligible expenditure from your Sports Premium Funding.
There was a really good response to the free ticket offer from Margate FC at the end of last term. This may well be repeated in the future and it would help if schools who took advantage of the offer could send an e-mail of thanks to Charlotte Richardson at the club, charlottecrichardson@gmail.com.
