A final reminder about our first Networking Meeting of the year for all school PE staff which will take place on Friday 13th October 2023, 1-4pm at North Foreland Golf Club. As well as giving you a chance to meet other PE staff and find out important information about upcoming events and initiatives, we will be looking at how Ofsted conduct a 'deep dive inspection' into PE. Weather permitting, we are also hoping to be able to have a go on the putting green!
All you need to do is let me know that you (plus any other PE support staff from your school) will be attending - so that we can ensure that we have enough coffee, tea and biscuits! This is one of the many benefits of Thanet Passport membership and please don't forget that any supply cover counts as eligible expenditure from your Sports Premium.
This competition will take place at Broadstairs College on Thursday 9th November 2023 and further details are attached. Please note that there is a limit of 8 schools for this event and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis from 7.30am on Thursday 12th October by emailing me, garybcrees@gmail.com . The closing date for entries is midnight on Thursday 19th October 2023. Parents are not permitted to attend this event.
This tournament has a maximum entry of 16 schools, with 8 schools playing on Friday 10th November and a further 8 playing on Friday 17th November. The top 4 teams from each of these play-offs will then contest the Finals on Friday 24th November. All matches will take place at The Ursuline College and further details are attached. Entries should be sent to me, garybcrees@gmail.com , NO EARLIER than 7.30am on Thursday 12th October and places will then be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The closing date for entries is midnight on Thursday 19th October 2023. Parents are not permitted to attend this event.
A flyer is also attached for this event, which will take place at St George's Secondary School on the morning of Saturday 11th November. There are only 8 spaces available and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis from 7.30am on Thursday 12th October by emailing me, garybcrees@gmail.com . The closing date for entries is midnight on Thursday 19th October 2023. Parents are allowed at this event.
This will take place at Margate FC on Wednesday 15th November and is an opportunity for your younger Juniors to represent their school in a friendly festival format. There is no limit on the number of schools attending, so get your entries in to me as soon as possible. Further details are attached. Parents are allowed at this event.
The Year 1/2 Dodgeball Festival will take place at Ramsgate Leisure Centre on Thursday 16th November, 4.15pm - 5.30pm. Schools can bring a squad of up to 9 children but only 7 children are permitted to play in each game. All teams must have at least 1 boy and 1 girl but a good mix is always promoted. Rules are adapted to suit KS1 children and are attached to this email. The emphasis is on the children having fun. Event guidelines will be sent out with fixtures to schools who are entered into the festival. Teachers will be expected to referee games (it's not difficult).
Due to space, we are limited to 8 teams and entries will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis (one team per school). Parents are not permitted to attend this event.

Similarly, attached is a flyer from Margate FC regarding their half-term Soccer School for children aged 4 to 12. Please pass on the information to any families that you think might be interested.
I am delighted to announce that we have added a new sport to the Passport Calendar. In January and February 2024 we will be holding a taster session followed by a tournament at Thanet Indoor Bowls Centre in Cliftonville. Watch out for further details after Christmas!
