PASSPORT COMMITTEE CHANGES

As I'm sure you are aware, this is my last year as Administrator of Thanet Passport and I am delighted to report that the Passport Committee has been able to appoint a more than suitable replacement, namely Mr Michael Povey. Many of you will know Michael from his work as a PE teacher at The Ursuline College and he will bring a wealth of experience, as well as youthful enthusiasm, to the role when he takes over the reins in September 2024. Between now and then I will be mentoring Michael so that the changeover will be as seamless as possible.
I would also like to welcome Callum Noble from Upton Juniors to the Passport Committee, as a replacement member for Lisa Sparkes. Committee members are there to serve your interests and to make sure that Passport meets the needs of all of its members. If you ever have suggestions for improvement or need advice, then please speak to Callum or any of the following Committee members:-
Stephanie Selsby - Thanet School Games Organiser
Scott Tift - Vice Chair
Tony Bailey - St Saviour's Junior School
Katie Delderfield - Palm Bay Primary School
Steve Holmes - Priory Infant School
Jade Bailey - Garlinge Primary School
Jack Hearn - Draper''s Mills Primary School
Lesley Wright - St George's Primary School

AFFILIATION FEES FOR 2023/24

Happily the Passport Committee have agreed that the Passport Affiliation Fees for this academic year will remain unchanged at £750 for Primary and Junior schools and £250 for Infant and Small schools. The fee for non-affiliated schools will be £50 per event. As you know Thanet Passport is a non-profit making organisation, run by schools for schools, and the annual Affiliation Fee means that we will continue to be self-sufficient. It still represents incredible value for money, particularly as we now offer more events than ever before, as well as CPD opportunities, networking meetings and other benefits such as reduced gym memberships. Many other districts pay profit making firms far more for much less in comparison, and of course it remains eligible expenditure from the School Sports Premium, not to mention ticking that box for Ofsted. Invoices will probably be sent out to all schools in January 2024, but I will let you know when they are on their way so that you can alert your finance managers.

Best Wishes

Gary Rees
