NETWORKING MEETING FOR PE STAFF

The next Networking Meeting will be held on Friday 23rd February, 1.00-4.00pm, at Thanet Indoor Bowls Centre in Cliftonville. As always, this is a great opportunity for PE staff to meet other like-minded people, share ideas and keep up to date with new initiatives and events. Cover for your attendance also counts as eligible expenditure from your school's PE and Sport Premium. At this meeting I will be giving an update on new additions to our calendar ; Stephanie Selsby, our School Games Organiser, will be providing support for those applying for the School Games Mark; and there will also be an Indoor Bowls practical session. As if all that was not enough, tea, coffee and buns will be provided! If you are able to join us please let me know by emailing garybcrees@gmail.com. There is no restriction on numbers from any school.

Y1/2 CLIMBING FESTIVAL

Our Y3/4 climbing event at Clip 'N Climb is now full, but we are pleased to be able to offer a second festival for Year 1/2 children next term on Tuesday 27th February 2024, 1-3pm. The event will be suitable for beginners without any prior knowledge of climbing. An entry form and further details are attached. There is a limit of 6 teams for this event and entries should be sent to Stephanie Selsby, sgo@ursuline.kent.sch.uk (NOT ME!). Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis from 7.30am on Friday 2nd January 2024. Closing date for entries is midnight on Friday 9th February 2024. Please note that parent spectators are not permitted at this event.

Y6 INDOOR BOWLS TOURNAMENT

Also attached is an entry form and further details for our first ever Indoor Bowls Tournament, which will be held at Thanet Indoor Bowls Centre in Cliftonville on Wednesday 28th February, 4-5.30pm. The event can accommodate up to 16 teams and schools may enter up to two teams (3 to a team), although final numbers will only be confirmed after the closing date. Please return the attached entry form to me, garybcrees@gmail.com , no earlier than 7.30am on Friday 2nd February 2024. The closing date for entries is Friday 9th February 2024. Y3-6 CROSS COUNTRY

The second Cross Country event at Quex Park will take place on Saturday 2nd March 2024. As always there will be separate races for boys and girls in each year group from Y3 to Y6. Every finisher will receive a medal, with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for the top 3 in each race. The cost per runner is £4.00. Attached is all the information you need, including a pro-forma letter for parents to which you can add your own deadline. Parent spectators are, of course, welcome at this event.

PLEASE NOTE THE ADMIN ARRANGEMENTS!

Also, the Passport Girls Football Cup at Margate FC has also moved from Friday 28th June 2024 to the following Friday 5th July 2024, 1.30-4.00pm. Further details for both to follow nearer the time of each event.

AND FINALLY...

Please don't forget to promote the Tesco 'Stronger Starts' scheme with your children and their families, which is now up and running until the end of March. We want those blue tokens in our tube!!
