THANET GAMES REMINDER

And finally, a reminder from Stephanie, our SGO, about expressing your preferences for the exciting Thanet Games in July 2024! Here is the information she sent out earlier this term in case you missed it:-

Good morning all,

2024 will be the very first time we can experience Thanet Games. It will be known as Thanet Games 2024 and is a celebration of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Together with Thanet District Council and Sports Connect, we will be offering an opportunity for every school to take part in at least one event during this week (8-12th July). We will also be arranging a Thanet Torch Relay to visit every school. These spread to Secondary and SEND specialist schools also. We understand this is a busy time of year, so wanted to ensure you had all the information in plenty of time. You can access the Primary Overview, Entry Pack, Entry link and Event Specifications related to your school intake HERE (or using the link at the bottom of this page). Please note, the bottom sections on the Event Specifications (Site Guidance and Equipment Lists), are part of a working document and final information regarding each site will be shared with you when your entries are secured.
These will provide you with the information you require to know whether each event is suited to your pupils. The entry link will enable you to set your preferences for all events. You will not be guaranteed entry at this point, once all entries are collated prior to the closing date, schools will then be allocated their events…much like the ballot system when purchasing tickets for the Olympics or selecting a desired Primary/Infant School at aged 4.

This information is better explained in the Entry Guidance using the link provided. The first closing date, which is to set preferences is 8th February 2024.

Best Wishes
