Thanet Passport Update - 1

Dear Colleagues

Welcome back! I trust that you are all well and that your schools are as back to 'normal' as they can possibly be in these difficult times.

PASSPORT CALENDAR

I'm pleased to say that we have a full calendar of events planned for this coming year and I hope that all schools will be keen to take part, notwithstanding the usual anti-Covid19 precautions. The electronic version of the calendar is attached and A3 laminated versions will be delivered to all schools in the next week or so.

Sadly since I sent out the draft calendar I have just been informed that Thanet Athletics Club are no longer in a position to run the Cross Country events at Quex Park. This means that it is now too late to try and organise anything for the first meet on Saturday 2nd October, which is why it has been taken off the calendar. However, we are trying hard to find another organiser for the second meet on Saturday 5th March 2022, which remains on the calendar for now.

We would like to thank TAC for all their hard work in the past and wish them well in the future.

Y3-6 FOOTBALL SIGN UP SHEET

The first events on the calendar are our Football Festivals. Attached is the sign up sheet for these, as well as the John Curran Cup, the Les Riggs Cup and Super Saturday. Please complete it electronically and email it back to me by this coming Friday 10th September.

DISTRICT TEAM

Staying on the theme of football, thank you to all those schools that nominated players for our District Team last season. Following the trials this means that some of your better players may well be unavailable for Saturday games, so please do not pressurise them to play for the school if a District game is also taking place. On a positive note, this should mean that more players will be given an opportunity to represent their schools – which is surely what it is all about!

Sadly we were unable to find a suitable candidate to take charge of the Girls District side, which therefore will not be running this season. Please let me know if you, or anyone you know, might be interested in this paid position for next season.
