Thanet Passport Update - 3

Dear Colleagues

It has been so good to see lots of you at our recent events and once again to enjoy the spectacle of our youngsters enjoying playing sport and representing their schools. Next term is an extremely busy one, with lots to sign up for below, including more indoor events. Sadly, based on your feedback, parents will still only be allowed to attend outdoor events for the foreseeable future.

BAYPOINT CLUB OFFER

Firstly, I am delighted to announce that Thanet Passport has added the Baypoint Club to our list of Partners. Consequently they are offering a 25% discount on their membership fees for any staff that work in Passport schools, including teachers. support staff, secretaries, caretakers or even the Road Crossing Patrol! A flyer for this offer is attached and they are more than happy to give anyone a tour of their facilities before signing up.

You may also be interested in holding your staff Xmas party there. They still have vacancies, so check out their website for further details, www.baypoint-club.co.uk .

TPSFA - ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The AGM of the Thanet Primary Schools FA will be held at The Botany Bay Hotel, Kingsgate at 5pm on Thursday 21st October. The meeting should last no longer than half an hour or so and this is a good chance for you to have a say in how Primary School football is run in Thanet, including our District teams. I would urge everyone who runs school football teams to attend. Please let me know if you will be attending.

SCHOOL OVER CLUB LETTER

Staying on the theme of football, a few schools have been encountering the perennial problem of players being pressured to play for their clubs rather than represent their schools, usually on a Saturday. ESFA rules clearly state that school matches take precedence and Clubs risk being sanctioned by the FA if they continue to pursue this course. I have attached a pro-forma letter that you can send home to parents to give to their clubs, using your own headed paper and hopefully with your Headteacher's signature added.

Rules are adapted to suit Year 2 children and are attached to this email. The emphasis is on the children having fun. Event guidelines will be sent out with fixtures to schools who are entered into the festival. Teachers will be expected to referee games (it's not difficult).
