Thanet Passport Update - 4

Dear Colleagues

As we now hurtle towards Christmas there is much to look forward to on the Passport Calendar.

PE NETWORKING MEETING

I am delighted to say that once again we will be running a series of face-to-face support meetings for all PE staff throughout this year. The first of these will take place at The Baypoint Club on Friday 26th November, 1.30-4.30pm. We have a full agenda planned, including information from our SGO about an exciting FA Girls Football project, presentations from Kent Surf School and Total Sports Coaching, plus a tour of the new facilities at Baypoint, who are offering a 25% membership discount for Passport School employees. Refreshments will also be provided. In the past PE teachers and sports coaches have always found these networking meetings to be informative and hugely supportive. Don't forget that the cost of cover for you to attend counts as eligible expenditure from your PE & Sports Premium budget.

Please let me know if you will be attending by emailing me, garybcrees@gmail.com , no later than Friday 19th November. There is no limit on numbers and more than one member of staff per school can attend.

DODGEBALL FESTIVAL - Years 5/6

Once again the Year 5/6 Dodgeball will be a Festival, rather than a Tournament, and the trophy will be awarded to the school that demonstrates the highest levels of honesty and fair play. Due to Health and Safety reasons no spectators will be allowed and parents should remain outside the building when waiting to pick up their children. The Festival will take place at King Ethelbert's Secondary School on Wednesday 24th November, 4-5.20pm, and there are 16 places available. These will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and applications will NOT be accepted until 7.30am on Friday 5th November 2021. To enter please return the attached entry form to me, garybcrees@gmail.com , no later than Friday 12th November 2021.

SPEED STACKING - Years 1/2

Details for this event are also attached. This competition will take place at Priory Infant School on Thursday 25th November, 4.15-5.15pm. There is a limit of 6 places for this event and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Entries should be sent to Steve Holmes, sholmes@priory.kent.sch.uk - NOT ME! PASSPORT AFFILIATION FEES 2021/2022

Finally, I'm pleased to be able to tell you that when the PassportCommittee met just before half term we decided that the planned increase to the Thanet Passport affiliation fees for this academic year (2021-2022) should once again be postponed for a further year. This is because, as a non-profit making organisation, we only need to meet our running costs, which due to the pandemic have been less than normal. Please alert your finance people that the invoices will be sent out by The Ursuline as usual in December. The fee remains at £200 for Infants and Small Schools and £600 for Juniors, Primaries and Private Schools. Don't forget that this is eligible expenditure from your PE & Sports Premium and is always looked upon favorably by Ofsted.

Although not all schools have been able to engage with our events so far this year, a huge calendar of activities and support remain in place which offer extremely good value for money, especially when compared to other Districts.

Best Wishes
