Dear Colleagues

Y3/4 QUICKSTICKS HOCKEY PLACE AVAILABLE

Thank you to everyone who has sent in their entry forms for the Quicksticks Hockey. Fixtures and final instructions will follow next week, but I do have one space available for the Y3/4 event on Thursday 24th February. If anyone would like the place please return the attached entry form to me by midday on Monday 7th February. First come first served. If the place remains unfilled I will open it up to existing entrants who may wish to enter a B team.

Y1-6 MULTI-FIT

This fun event is designed for children who do not usually get the opportunity to represent their school at sport. It will take place at Ramsgate Leisure Centre on Friday 25th February, 1-3.30pm and all schools are invited to bring along 2 pupils from each year group (12 maximum). Infant only schools may bring 4 per year group (8 maximum). During the course of the afternoon the participants will face a series of fitness and skills based activities, modified according to their age. We hope as many schools as possible will take part, but due to the size of the venue there is a restriction on numbers so please get your entries in as early as possible. An entry form is attached which should be returned to me, garybcrees@gmail.com , no later than midnight on Monday 14th February 2022. Successful entries will then be confirmed along with details of the various activities.

This event is all about personal achievement and the School Games Values of Determination, Honesty, Passion, Respect, Self-Belief and Team Work. All participants will receive a medal. Teachers will also be asked at the end to nominate one child from their team who has exemplified the above Values to receive an extra medal.

Y5/6 RUGBY

The sign up sheet for this season’s rugby events is attached, as well as a reminder about the rules. Please return it to me, garybcrees@gmail.com, no later than Friday 11th February 2022.

RESEARCH REQUEST FOR EYFS/KS1 TEACHERS

Finally, for those of you who work in schools with EYFS and KS1, please have a look at the attached letter from Josh Williamson, a local man who plays for Margate Cricket Club and who has helped out at many of our cricket festivals. He is currently undertaking a PhD at Canterbury Christ Church University and is furthering his research into children and teachers' understanding of the impact of hydration and fluid intake within Health Education. If you are willing to help with his research further details can be found in his letter.

Best wishes
