Thanet Passport Update - 13

Welcome back! I trust you all had a restful Easter break and are raring to go this term, particularly as there is so much for you to choose from.

PE STAFF NETWORKING MEETING

It is still not too late to sign up for our next Networking Meeting for PE staff, which will take place at the new 'Clip 'n Climb' Centre at Westwood Retail Park on Friday 29th April 2022, 1-4pm, including the opportunity to have a go! There is no charge for Passport Schools and refreshments are provided. Don't forget that cover for your attendance counts as eligible expenditure from your PE and Sports Premium. Please let me know as soon as possible if you plus anyone else from your school wishes to attend.


PLACES STILL AVAILABLE

There are still places available at the Y1 Football Festival next Monday 25th April and the Y3/4 Rugby League Tournament next Tuesday 26th April, both at Minster. If you would like to enter, or if you have already entered and would like to put in an extra team, please let me know no later than midday on Thursday 21st April.


Y3/4 FOOTBALL FESTIVAL

This friendly, fun event is due to take place at Margate FC on Tuesday 3rd May, 3.45-5.15pm and there is no limit on the number of schools that may enter. Further details are attached and entries should be sent to me, garybcrees@gmail.com. The closing date for entries is midnight on Monday 25th April.


Y3/4 & Y5/6 MINI-TENNIS

Also attached are the entry forms for both the Y3/4 and Y5/6 Mini-Tennis tournaments which are due to take place at Margate Tennis Club on Friday 6th May and Friday 13th May respectively. There is a limit of 8 teams for each event and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis from 7.30am on Thursday 21st April 2022. Entries should be sent to Stephanie Selsby (NOT ME!), sgo@ursuline.kent.sch.uk .


Y1/2 DODGEBALL FESTIVAL

Our second Year 2 Dodgeball Tournament of the year will take place at Ramsgate Leisure Centre on Tuesday 12th May 2022, 4pm - 5.20pm. Schools can bring a squad of up to 9 children but only 7 children are permitted to play in each game. All teams must have at least 1 boy and 1 girl but a good mix is always promoted. Rules are adapted to suit Year 2 children and are attached. The emphasis is on the children having fun. Event guidelines will be sent out with fixtures to schools who are entered into the festival. Teachers will be expected to referee games (it's not difficult).

Due to space, we are limited to 8 teams and entries will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis (one team per school).

Y3/4 & Y5/6 ORIENTEERING

Finally the entry forms for both the Y3/4 and Y5/6 Orienteering events are also attached.  The Y5/6 event will take place at Betteshanger Park, near Deal, on Tuesday 10th May, 12.30-2.30pm, for which there is a limit of 10 teams which will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis from 7.30am on Thursday 21st April. The Y3/4 event will take place at the Ursuline on Tuesday 17th May, 4-5.30pm and there is no limit on the number of teams for this event  All entries should be sent to Stephanie Selsby (NOT ME!), sgo@ursuline.kent.sch.uk .
