Thanet Passport Update - 14

Dear Colleagues

It was great to see so many of you at the PE Networking meeting at Clip 'n Climb last week. For those that missed it Stephanie, our SGO, will be sending out some further information. Please see the attached documents from Tom Tsangarides of Inclusive Sport, which he presented at the meeting. This will be of great interest to those schools that wish to enhance their practice, develop more inclusive PE and Sports Clubs and apply for the Inclusive Sports Mark.

I can also highly recommend the new Clip 'n Climb for schools and we will be looking to hold an inter-school event there next year. Their flyer is attached.

CHANGE OF DATES

Please note the following changes to the Passport Calendar:-
Y5/6 Orienteering - WAS Tuesday 10th May, 12.30-2.30pm. NOW Friday 20th May, 12.30-2.30pm. Still at Betteshanger Park. Entry details for this have already been sent out by the SGO and it is still not too late to enter.
Y4-6 Passport Girls Football Cup - WAS Friday 24th June, 1.30-4.30pm. NOW Friday 1st July, 1.30-4.30pm. Still at Upton. Entry details to follow in my next Update.

Y2 FOOTBALL FESTIVAL

Attached is the flyer giving details of the final Y2 Football Festival of the year at Margate FC on Tuesday 7th June 2022, 3.45-5.15pm. There is no limit on the number of schools taking part and entries should be sent to me, garybcrees@gmail.com , no later than midnight on Friday 13th May.

Y3/4, Y5/6 & GIRLS KWIK CRICKET

Attached is the entry form for all 3 Kwik Cricket competitions on 10th and 17th June respectively. Please note that entries will not be accepted until next Thursday 12th May at 7.30am. This should give you plenty of time to check that you can get a team together before deciding whether or not to enter each event. Entries should be sent to me, garybcrees@gmail.com . A copy of the rules is also attached.

Y4/5 FOOTBALL FESTIVAL

Also attached is the entry form for the Y4/5 Football Festival at Upton on Tuesday 14th June, 4-5.30pm. This is an opportunity for you to see what 'talent' you have for next season and we will also ask you to nominate the most sporting school you have played against this season. The school with the most votes will receive the Palmer Fair Play Shield. Entries should be sent to me, garybcrees@gmail.com. One entry per school. Closing date for entries is Friday 20th May.

DISTRICT FOOTBALL TRIALS

I'm pleased to say that the Thanet Primary Schools FA will be running both Boy and Girl representative teams next season. Trials for both teams will be held at Ramsgate FC in mid to late June and as always only schools can nominate the trialists. Further details regarding the nomination process will be sent to all eligible schools in the next week or so.
