Welcome back! I trust that you had a restful summer break and have returned eager to join in with another year of great sporting opportunities for your school.
In order to make sure that every school is making the best use of their Passport membership we are holding a Passport Relaunch event at The Thanet Wanderers Clubhouse in St Peter's on Wednesday 14th September 2022, 6.30-8.30pm. Ideally we would like every school to send at least one representative, including the Headteacher if possible. At the meeting we will not only be outlining all the benefits of Passport membership and how it all works, but this will also be an ideal opportunity to network with other colleagues, old and new, and meet some of our partners. All attendees will receive a bag of goodies which PE staff will find very useful in their work. The Club bar will also be open!
Attached is your invitation. Please print it out and pass a copy on to your Headteacher, or any other member of staff that you feel might be interested in attending. RSVP with numbers to me, garybcrees@gmail.com .

We are still in the process of finalising one or two events, but the DRAFT Passport calendar is attached. We have tried to improve the calendar this year by including the dates of all our Networking Meetings for PE Staff in the hope that, with more notice, more of you will be able to attend. We have also tried to keep the first week of each term free of events in order to give you more time to get letters out and teams together. In addition we have added in some 'taster' or 'masterclass' events before some of our major tournaments, such as Basketball, Handball, Rugby and Cricket, in order for you and your players to become familiar with the format, rules, coaching drills etc.
The final draft should be sent out next week, with the usual A3 size laminated hard copies delivered to your schools a few weeks later.
Y3-6 FOOTBALL SIGN UP SHEET
Attached is the sign up sheet for the TPSFA Festivals, as well as the John Curran Cup, the Les Riggs Cup, the DW Girls Cup and Super Saturday. Please complete it electronically and email it back to me by Friday 9th September at the latest. Details about the first Y2 football festival will be sent out later in the term.
DISTRICT TEAM
Staying on the theme of football, thank you to all those schools that nominated players for our Boys and Girls District Teams. Following the trials this means that some of your better players may well be unavailable for Saturday games, so please do not pressurise them to play for the school if a District game is also taking place. On a positive note, this should mean that more players will be given an opportunity to represent their schools – which is surely what it is all about!
I am delighted to say that once again we are working with our partners, Margate FC and Ramsgate FC, to offer all schools our popular 'Mascot Matchday Experience.' Schools can apply to be allocated a league game at either club, or even both. Then for a small fee, nominated children (accompanied by up to 2 adults each) will act as mascots for the day and enjoy a penalty shoot out at half time, plus food. Details for each club are attached. Simply return the form to me and I will be in touch with your allocated game and further details.
Also attached is the entry form for the first Netball festival of the year at Dane Court on Wednesday 21st September, 3.45-5.15pm. Please note that there is a limit of 10 places for this event which will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Entries open at 7.30am on Monday 5th September and should be sent to Jack Hearn at Garlinge Primary School, hearnj@garlinge.kent.sch.uk , NOT ME! Closing date for entries is Friday 9th September at 5pm.
