A final reminder about our first Networking Meeting of the year for all school PE staff which will take place on Thursday 20th October 2022, 1-4pm at Margate Tennis Club. As well as giving you a chance to meet other PE staff and find out important information about upcoming events and initiatives, this meeting will also give all attendees the opportunity to take part in a FREE practical session with a LTA coach. This in turn will entitle your school to a £250 voucher which can be exchanged for 10 hours of team teaching with an accredited LTA coach. So what's not to like?
All you need to do is let me know that you (plus any other PE support staff from your school) will be attending - so that we can ensure that we have enough coffee, tea and biscuits! This is one of the many benefits of Thanet Passport membership and please don't forget that any supply cover counts as eligible expenditure from your Sports Premium.
The AGM of the Thanet Primary Schools FA will be held straight after the PE Networking Meeting on Thursday 20th October 2022 at 4pm at Margate Tennis Club. The meeting should last no longer than half an hour or so and this is a good chance for you to have a say in how Primary School football is run in Thanet, including our District teams. I would urge everyone who runs school football teams to attend. Please let me know if you will be attending.
This competition will take place at St George's Primary School on Thursday 10th November 2022 and further details are attached. Please note that there is a limit of 8 schools for this event and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis from 7.30am on Thursday 13th October by emailing me, garybcrees@gmail.com . The closing date for entries is midnight on Thursday 20th October 2022.
This tournament has a maximum entry of 16 schools, with 8 schools playing on Friday 11th November and a further 8 playing on Friday 18th November. The top 4 teams from each of these play-offs will then contest the Finals on Friday 25th November. All matches will take place at The Ursuline College and further details are attached. Entries should be sent to me, garybcrees@gmail.com , NO EARLIER than 7.30am on Thursday 13th October and places will then be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The closing date for entries is midnight on Thursday 20th October 2022.
A flyer is also attached for this event, which will take place at St George's Primary School on the morning of Saturday 12th November. There are only 8 spaces available and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis from 7.30am on Thursday 13th October by emailing me, garybcrees@gmail.com . The closing date for entries is midnight on Thursday 20th October 2022.
This will take place at Margate FC on Wednesday 16th November and is an opportunity for your younger Juniors to represent their school in a friendly festival format. There is no limit on the number of schools attending, so get your entries in to me as soon as possible. Further details are attached.
The Year 1/2 Dodgeball Festival will take place at Ramsgate Leisure Centre on Tuesday 17th November, 4pm - 5.20pm. Schools can bring a squad of up to 9 children but only 7 children are permitted to play in each game. All teams must have at least 1 boy and 1 girl but a good mix is always promoted. Rules are adapted to suit KS1 children and are attached to this email. The emphasis is on the children having fun. Event guidelines will be sent out with fixtures to schools who are entered into the festival. Teachers will be expected to referee games (it's not difficult).
Due to space, we are limited to 8 teams and entries will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis (one team per school).

1. For those schools entered in the Les Riggs Football Cup, don't forget that your 2nd Round matches need to be played by 7th November 2022.
2. I still have a few places available for both the Margate FC and Ramsgate FC 'Matchday Mascot Experience' this season. Entry forms and details for this were attached to Passport Update 1, which can also be found on our website - www.thanetpassport.org.uk .
