Thanet Passport Update - 11

Dear Colleagues

This is the last Update for Term 4, but it includes lots for you to sign up to in the first half of Term 5!

PE NETWORKING MEETING

I am delighted to say that the final Networking Meeting of the year for PE and Sports staff will take place at Broadstairs Cricket Club on Thursday 20th April, 1-4pm. These meetings are an added benefit to your membership of Thanet Passport and as always they are not just an opportunity to catch up on the latest developments and share expertise with like-minded colleagues, but on this occasion we will be joined by Molly Davis, the Kent Community Cricket Coach. She will be outlining how the 'Chance to Shine' programme can benefit your schools and we will also have a practical session on 'Kwik Cricket' prior to our various cricket competitions in May and June. As if all that was not enough, refreshments are provided and cover for your attendance counts as eligible expenditure from your school's Sports Premium. Please confirm your attendance with me, garybcrees@gmail.com , as soon as possible.

CROSS COUNTRY KINDNESS

I wanted to share with you all a wonderful act of sportsmanship that was witnessed at the Cross Country event last week. During the Year 5 Boys Race a runner from St Saviour's school was in distress towards the end of the race, when a boy from another school stopped, asked if he was alright and then walked with him and helped him cross the finish line, thereby sacrificing a much higher finishing position for himself. Thanks for sharing this incident with me Mr Bailey, which I thought everyone would appreciate hearing about.
