Dear Colleagues
As previously advised, the rearranged Quicksticks Hockey Tournaments will now take place at St Lawrence College. The Y3/4 event will be on Monday 3rd July and the Y5/6 event the day after on Tuesday 4th July, both 4-5.30pm. Please note that all games will be played on the netball courts on the Newlands side of the school. There is a limit of 16 schools for each tournament and entry forms are attached, which should be sent to me, garybcrees@gmail.com , no earlier than 7.30am on Friday 23rd June. Parents are allowed to attend this event.
This inclusive event will take place at Garlinge Primary School on Tuesday 11th July, 9.30-11.00am. There are 5 players in a team and no previous experience is necessary. Indeed, you are asked to bring a mixed gender team of players who may not have represented the school before and who may have additional needs. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis by emailing Jade Bailey, baileyj@garlinge.kent.sch.uk , no earlier than 7.30am on Friday 23rd June 2023. The closing date for entries is midnight on Friday 30th June. Parents are NOT allowed to attend this event.
Stephanie Selsby, our SGO, sent out details earlier this week concerning two events - the Athletics Transition event for Y6 and Y7 pupils, which will take place at the Royal Harbour School on Wednesday 12th July, 3-5pm, as well as the entry form for the Y1/2 Infant Games at Baypoint on Thursday 13th July, 10am-1pm. I have reattached both documents in case you missed them.
As always, our final event of the year is a fun Kwik Cricket festival which will take place on Friday 14th July at Broadstairs CC, 4-5.20pm. This is an opportunity to play a couple of friendly matches and there are no medals or trophies, just turn up, play and have fun. Kwik cricket rules apply EXCEPT that players must all face 6 balls when batting and underarm bowling is permitted throughout (See attached rules). There is no limit on numbers so simply email me, garybcrees@gmail.com , no later than Friday 30th June 2023. Parents are allowed to attend this event.
We are already in the process of putting together next year's Passport Calendar and a draft version should be with you in early July. If you are already starting to plan your after school clubs and trips out for 2023/24 then be assured that most of our calendar will be the same as this year. However, we have a few new events and sports in the pipeline, so watch this space!
Best Wishes
